AAA’s Thanksgiving holiday travel forecast for 2016 predicts the highest volume for the holiday since 2007 with a 4.2 percent increase over 2013.The Thanksgiving holiday travel period is defined as Wednesday, Nov. 23, to Sunday, Nov. 27, and this year AAA forecast’s 48.7 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the Thanksgiving weekend.   • More than 40 million travelers will drive to their destinations, even though car rental costs have gone up 10% from last year.
