Safe and Happy Holiday
Each of us at Wolf & Pravato wishes all our clients, readers, family and friends a happy and safe holiday and a New Year filled with the gifts of peace, hope and joy.
This time of year brings lots of festivity and family fun but it’s also a time to be extra careful on the roads and while shopping. Here are some tips to stay safe this holiday season:
- Don’t answer the door to strangers. Be aware that criminals sometimes pose as couriers delivering gifts.
- When shopping, be smart. Don’t wear expensive jewelry, carry large amounts of cash, or overload yourself with packages. Don’t put packages on the seat of your car. Do pay with a check or credit card when possible. Do ask mall or store security for an escort if your shopping location feels unsafe.
- When driving take precautions. Don’t drive alone at night or approach your car alone if you see someone suspicious looking in the area. Don’t drive if you have been drinking. Do read our latest article – “Start of Annual Holiday Drunk Driving Crackdown.” Do load the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) new mobile app, SaferRide, designed to help people who have been drinking get a secure ride home.
- When parking watch your surroundings. Do park in a well-lighted area. Don’t park next to vans, trucks with camper shells, or cars with tinted window. Don’t leave your car unoccupied with the motor running.
Take time during the rush of the holidays to focus on the important things and to enjoy the things in life that really matter, like the quiet moments spent with friends and loved ones. Not only will it help your holidays be more special, but it just might make someone else’s special too.
Have a Safe and Happy Holiday from your friends at Wolf & Pravato.
