Recreational Equipment Inc. (REI) has instituted a recall of approximately 30,000 of their campfire rocker chairs. The chair, specifically the REI evrgrn Campfire Rocker, is considered a potential danger because it can tip over backwards while a person is rocking in it. So far, there have been four reports of children who have been injured when the chairs they were in tipped over in the store.
The REI evrgrn Campfire Rocker chairs were made in China, but they were sold only at REI stores and on their website at www.REI.com. The chairs are collapsible rocking chairs. They can be either blue, gray, green, or orange. The fabric of the chair is supported by four metal tubes.
There are wooden rockers at the base of the chair and a small black tab affixed on the seat with the brand name “evrgrn” printed on it. The chair also has a portable carrying bag that is in the same color as the fabric seat. The chairs sold from April to August of 2015 and were about $100.
If you purchased one of these chairs, you should stop using it. REI is offering either a new replacement chair at no cost or a full refund. For more information, contact REI at 800-426-4840. You can also use the Product Recalls tab on their website, www.REI.com.
